NY and Archives

First off, I changed how some of the settings are on the blog, so everyone see if you can post anything now. We can have a discussion about this.

I have been thinking about NY since our meeting and these are my thoughts. I think the most important thing right now is to educate people on the Charleston Artist Collective. My friends in NY are excited to help promote us and I think it would be confusing to show up with a bunch of gallery priced paintings the first time around. I think what I take is mostly unframed works. These can be chosen from archives or from anything that you want. If paintings are priced the same as they would be on the site, you would be taking 20% less than if they were on the web because 20% will not be going to a charity. A few weeks later you were willing to sell them at a discount?

Your take would be:
$90 for 8x 10
$120 for 9 x 12
$150 for 11 x 14

I could take 5 to 7 unframed and/or one or two framed works.

Let me know your thoughts. I think this will be a chance to spread the word about the Collective and gain new fans. Then, if it goes well we can plan a different show next time.

With this in mind, perhaps we don't put the Archive on the site. Then, we have things to pull from for out of town shows.

Would love to hear from you.

Happy Halloween

  2. All sounds good to me too. I think it is important to take any opportunity to inform people who are interested in collecting art that the CAC is the best ! May need advise on the five paintings . thanks Anne ..
