Gallery idea on Website

I hope you all like the idea for the gallery in addition to the theme paintings. It is optional, but it is a way to have more paintings offered on the site. If we have a captive audience, we need to embrace it. These can be any sizes and any prices. I think to start we should keep under $1000. These can be offered framed. Would it be possible for you each to price the gallery paintings so that the shipping could be a standard charge. Obviously, if it is going to California it is a different price than somewhere local, but it will get complicated unless we can keep it a standard charge. In some cases, you might have to absorb some of the costs for the shipping and in other cases you might now. If you are in for this idea, please send me up to 3 paintings that you want to have in the gallery.

We need to make a decision and finalize the prices for the unframed themed paintings. I have had some responses on both ends. Remember this is unframed paintings. You can use materials/paints that are less expensive for the themed paintings and put your other paintings in the gallery. You have the option if your painting sells to replace it and have multiple sales in a month. We don't want to price too high that we are outpricing ourselves from the painting a day sites, but I also think we might have a different niche. We can also always raise prices once we see the response, however it will be hard to go backwards. What is fair? If you reply on the blog, we can all discuss and come to the best decision.....

5 x7= $75 (your take $60)
6 x8= $100 (your take $80)
8 x10= $150 (your take $120)
9 x12= $200 (your take $160)
11 x 14= $250 (your take $175)

  1. I'm good with the above pricing. Do all gallery pieces have to be framed?

  3. Lynne, Did you hear from Ralph, the computer guy. Gallery pieces do not have to be framed. We just need to indicate framed or unframed. I would love to hear from everyone on pricing.

  4. I am in favor of the prices that you have suggested. I am slowly increasing my blog prices and have noticed sells have really slowed down. I am hoping the web will generate more interest. I think the optional gallery is such a great option for higher prices. I have sent some of my framed 11x14 to the Web Gallery priced at ( 625.00) to 825.00 framed. I am also hanging the same paintings at the Island Gallery .. I figure the more exposure the better. I feel most people who view or shop for original unframed paintings are collecting for wholesale prices while watching the artist potential develop. It has been my experience the collectors from online are shopping around ( the world) for good art at affordable prices. Gallery and Web represented artist seem to present their work with larger canvas ., framed and higher prices. It seems to me we can experiment with both.
